Like Clockwork

So I've been meaning to post these for a while, but these are my final pieces for the first term.

This is my first final, the canal, I thought for a first attempt it was alright, but when i step back and look at it i can see that i don't have the horizon line correct and its all a bit out of place. I also didn't press down hard enough in some of the areas.

The archway, I really wasn't happy with this one and struggled to get the proportion and angles right.

The Fletcher building, I found it quite hard to get the 2 point perspective right and find where the vanishing point is for this picture. But it made me realise I need to work a lot more on my 2 point perspective drawings.

I quite enjoyed doing my Bradgate park final, however after finishing it I thought it looks quite flat and I need to find a way to add depth to the image.

At this point my dinosaur bone was my favorite final piece, I managed to get the proportions right on the toes and the rendering was good, although it could have been darker.

I didn't think the car came out too bad considering it was the first time I had ever attempted to draw a car. I still hadn't got the 2 point perspective right which has made the bonnet and top of the car look inaccurate.

This is my still life final, I liked this one because it shows my rendering getting better.

This is my last final from the first term and it is also my best final piece. I got the proportions accurate and the shading looks good, there are some places where I should have pressed down harder with the pencil to create darker shadows.
I had an assessment in which I got feedback saying that my drawings are improving, which I think they are too. I had to re-draw them all for after Christmas but I didn't mind doing this as it gave me the opportunity to go back and improve where I made mistakes before. I still have a long way to go, but at least my drawings are improving instead of getting worse.
